Student Assistance Program
The student assistance program (SAP) is a program designed to provide access to school and community services for students in need of extra support. The team consists of the school counselor, school nurse, school psychologist, behavior specialist, home and school visitor, school principal, speech teacher, learning support teacher, and one teacher representative from each grade level. The grade level teachers serve as case managers to facilitate the development of action plans and progress monitoring. The team meets two times every week; once to discuss student referrals in grades K-2 and once to discuss student referrals in grades 3 and 4. The team meets as a whole at the beginning, middle, and end of the year to review and update in-school SAP procedures. Information about the SAP team is listed in the student handbook and student agenda. All SAP information is kept confidential.
Pressley Ridge
Home and school program - this program provides therapy services for students in the school setting and also at home. The Pressley Ridge team works with the student, their family, and school staff as a team to support the student with any needs they have. The goal of this program is to provide the student and their families with an integrative team to improve their emotional, mental, and academic well-being.
Outpatient therapy - The Pressley Ridge outpatient program offers assessment and treatment for youth, adults and families with emotional, mental and behavioral issues. Sessions are held at school once a week.
Crisis Center North
Trauma informed therapy - Crisis Center North provides one on one therapy to students at school during school hours. Their professionals are trauma-informed therapists who can help students specifically with trauma related mental health services.
Communities in Schools
Our school-based staff partner through Communities in Schools works with school staff to identify challenges students face in class or at home and coordinate with community partners to bring outside resources inside schools. From immediate needs like food or clothing to more complex ones like counseling or emotional support.
Holy Family Institute
Stop Now and Plan (SNAP) program - the Stop Now And Plan (SNAP) program helps children aged 6-11 deal with serious behavioral challenges when they begin to emerge. A wide range of cognitive-behavioral techniques empower children and their parents to address complex issues like stealing, lying, fighting, defiant or impulsive behavior, and school suspension or detention. This program is held at Holy Family during after school hours. Transportation and dinner is provided to the parent and child attending.
Sto-Ken Boys and Girls Club
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania creates safe, fun environments where kids can pursue academic success, good character and citizenship, and healthy lifestyles. Transportation is available to after school programs.
Big Brothers Big Sisters
This program provides mentorship to students who could benefit from an additional role model in their life. Mentors work with children in the community, in their schools, on military bases, and many places in between.
Resolve Crisis Network
If your student is experiencing a crisis, the Resolve Crisis Network is available 24/7 free of charge. Their hotline is available at all times to provide guidance through crisis 1-888-796-8226 (7-YOU-CAN). Resolve also has a walk-in center and a trained support team to help students and families.
