ART EDUCATION

In our art classes at Sto-Rox, creativity is encouraged and embraced! As we create art that reflects our unique students and school, we will develop skills in two and three dimensional media. Students will get to learn new techniques and subjects in drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, and much more. Color theory and the Elements of Art and Principles of Design will guide us along the way. Students will find ways to broaden their art vocabulary, and develop more than just drawing or painting skills.

We will make cross curricular connections to history, culture, math, and literacy. We will explore the world around us by making observational art and learning about other relevant and popular artists. Students are always encouraged to think outside of the box. We will plan and design, and use problem-solving during the creation process to turn mistakes into positivity. Together, we will reflect on work, ask questions, and discuss new ideas. When it comes to visual art, there’s a lot to discover!
